For this month's No Croutons Required, I would like to focus on what is often served alongside soup or a salad. I am thinking of the humble sandwich.?

Pumpkin seems to be an incredibly popular baking ingredient on the other side of the Atlantic, but not so much here in the UK. I think this needs to be rectified, and what better way to do it than combining it with chocolate?

This month?s theme for Serve It series is ?Serve It ? Boiled?. We just had to reserve this theme for October. With the onset of the fall season here in the US and monsoons in India, we all would like something steaming hot for a meal. Starting with your morning cup of joe, followed by an awesome curry with rice/roti and ending the day with a warm bowl of soup for dinner would be so comforting and satisfying. Teatime Treats

Hosting Blog:
What Kate Baked

Theme: Jams, Chutneys, Preserves

Start Date: now
Event Deadline:? 28 October 2012

I'd?always?categorized?jam making as something a bit complex, a bit too tricky and filed it away, alongside croquonbouche and Will-n-Kate's wedding cake in the baking folder in my mind labelled 'Far too hard and far too likely to fail'.?

That was until my sister, an excellent Jam maker, showed that, actually, not only is it very possible to make a batch of sticky, sweet, fruity jam but it is an exceedingly pleasurable way to gently pass a couple of hours of an Autumnal evening.

Which is why this month's Tea Time Treats theme is (you've guessed it): Jams, Chutneys & Preserves.

Nothing is more intimate, or more effective at creating friendships than cooking and sharing meals together, even it is virtually. But hey, if you live in the same area as another blogger what's to stop you from gathering in your own kitchen for this challenge. Choose a dish to prepare and invite 1(one) blogger to create that dish with you. You can source your recipe from a cookbook, magazine, blog or any other source. Your dish can be sweet or savoury; easy or complicated. Decide upon a date that you can both mutually post your recipe within a 4 week time frame.?
